The Adabas & Natural User Group meeting on September 17th NYC proved to be a very popular event, with customers delighted to hear about the many ways that A&N environments can be optimized and modernized for easy participation in a digital enterprise.
Then Pam Schwartz of the State of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) gave a fascinating presentation on “Business IT Transformation – How to Connect Anything to Anything,” which focused on the DMV’s integration experiences using EntireX. The customer uses EntireX Communicator to allow the mainframe legacy systems to interface with other state agencies, the Federal government, external business partners and DMV customers to allow seamless communications for transaction processing. A great modernization example!
Bob Jeffcott of Software AG complemented Pam’s presentation with a demo showing how easy it is to expose Natural business logic as APIs and microservices using the latest release of EntireX.
What was on the minds of most customers, however, was the upcoming October release of Natural v9, which includes the Eclipse-based NaturalONE editor as a replacement for the green screen editor. Patrick Gould put them at ease with a detailed presentation on “Getting Ready for Natural v9/ NaturalONE.” A key point in his presentation was that Software AG’s Global Consulting Service offers free advice to help customers assess their readiness for the move to Natural v9/NaturalONE. Of course, we did not hesitate to invite the audience to our 2018 product release virtual conference and to point them to our free Natural tutorials at www.LearnAdabasNatural.com.
Next was a presentation by Eric Wood on “Dashboarding and Streaming Analytics,” showing how Software AG’s Apama and Mashzone NextGen can provide up-to-the-moment analytics for auditing and fraud detection.
The last presentation of the day was by Harpal Gill and Curt Jensen of the CONNX Sales team, who gave a combination talk and demo on scenarios for moving data to Containers and the Cloud.
Many thanks to our devoted A&N customers for coming to the user group, and we look forward to seeing you at the 2018 Virtual Conference on October 9-11.
