Healthcare IT Standards and Interoperability – HIMSS 2012 Update

In the recently concluded HIMSS 2012 Conference, the need for interoperability in healthcare seemed to be on everyone’s radar. The proposed rules for Meaningful Use Stage 2 focus on healthcare standards and interoperability. These proposed rules are published on ONC’s (Office of National Coordinator) site and Federal Register and are likely to be finalized by summer 2012.
