Do you have a HIPAA 5010 resolution in 2012?

Happy New Year!
This new year is very special for Healthcare Industry as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) 5010 transactions go into effect from January 1st 2012. This is a major milestone which every Healthcare company in US has been tracking for last couple of years.
In November last year, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that they will not enforce the HIPAA 5010 for first 3 months. Does this mean a delay of 3 months? Not necessarily as clarified later that this means that only the enforcement is delayed. The compliance date for HIPAA 5010 remains January 1st 2012. The reason for delay in compliance is that most covered entities are not ready yet.
It brings many questions to my mind:
1. What does it means for Providers and Patients? Will CMS still be accepting 4010 claims till March 31st, 2012?
2. Given that every covered entity has had a few years to implement 5010, whats motivating them to get upgraded in next 90 days? Will this date remain a moving target?
If you are working on 5010 compliance, I would love to hear your thoughts/experiences.
